Calculate your waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and assess your risk for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes according to WHO guidelines.
WHO Health Risk Reference Table
Waist-to-hip ratio is a stronger predictor of cardiovascular disease risk than BMI because it specifically measures abdominal fat distribution. Central obesity (fat stored around the abdomen) is metabolically more harmful than fat stored around the hips and thighs.
Waist: measure at the narrowest point of your torso, usually just above the belly button. Hip: measure at the widest point across your buttocks. Stand relaxed, breathe normally, and measure after a gentle exhale.
